Collection: Office Credenzas

A credenza sits behind a desk at the same height, turning the wall behind you into working storage and a second surface without adding anything to the middle of the room.

Height is the point

Ours are 29" high, matching the desks they pair with. That means you can swivel and reach it without standing, and the top stays usable for a printer, files in progress or a lamp. A taller storage cabinet does not do this.

Widths run 68" to 72", sized to line up behind a 66" or 72" desk rather than sticking out past it. Depth is typically 22" to 24".

What is inside

Full-height pedestals on both sides give the most drawer capacity: box, box, file on one side and file, file on the other, all locking. Suspended pedestals stop short of the floor, which looks lighter and makes cleaning underneath easier. Lateral file credenzas give over the whole unit to filing, four drawers of it, which holds considerably more than two standalone cabinets.

Door credenzas trade drawers for shelved cupboard space, better for supplies and boxes than for paper. Glass doors keep the wall reading open; laminate doors hide the contents.

Adding a hutch

Most credenzas here take a matching hutch above, which adds enclosed overhead storage without using floor space. Check the widths line up, and note hutches are sold separately.
