Collection: Pedestal Desks

A pedestal desk is a desk whose drawers are built in as stacked units, called pedestals, rather than added as a separate cabinet. Choosing one comes down to how many pedestals, how they are mounted and what drawers are inside.

Single or double pedestal

A single pedestal desk has drawers on one side and open knee room on the other. Ours are 48" wide and 24" deep with one box and file pedestal, a good fit for a small office or a second workstation. A double pedestal desk has drawers on both sides and runs from 60" to 72" wide and 30" to 36" deep.

Suspended or full height pedestals

Suspended pedestals hang from the underside of the work surface and stop short of the floor, which keeps the floor clear and the desk lighter looking. On our suspended desks each one holds a box drawer and a file drawer. Full height pedestals stand on the floor and hold more: one box, box, file and one file, file, as on the Bellagio 66" and 71" desks. The Carmel 66" and 71" desks use the same box, box, file and file, file configuration.

Drawers, locks and filing

Box drawers take supplies; file drawers take hanging files. The Santa Monica 60" and 72" desks run on full-extension ball bearing slides with soft-close glides and a hanging system for letter and legal files. The Bellagio 48" and 60" and one Carmel 60" desk include locking box and file pedestals.

Rectangular or bow front

The Bellagio 71" bow front desk curves the front edge out to 42" deep, adding room across the desk for a visitor, while keeping the same full height pedestals as the rectangular 71".

Matching credenzas

The Bellagio and Carmel 71" storage credenzas are 24" deep and 29" high with their own double pedestals, sized to sit behind a 71" desk. More configurations are in office credenzas, and desks joined to a credenza are in U-shaped office desks.

Finishes follow the range: Santa Monica in grey, espresso, blanc de gris, miele or noce, Bellagio in grey or walnut, and Carmel in espresso or mahogany.
