Collection: Office Task Chairs

A task chair is the chair at a workstation, the one someone sits in for a full day at a computer. It has to fit the desk, roll easily and adjust with a lever rather than a tool. The choices below separate one task chair from another.

Mesh or fabric

A mesh back lets air through, which helps anyone who runs warm, while a padded fabric seat stays comfortable over a long day. Many of our task chairs pair the two, including the PAVIA, Villagio, Cucamanga, Classic Chic and Fortuna. The Bedarra all mesh task chair and the Flex use mesh for both seat and back.

Height adjustable task chairs

Seat height is the first adjustment to check against your desk. Where a range is listed, standard task chairs here adjust from roughly 17" to 22" at the seat. For a standing desk or a counter, a drafting stool raises the seat to 26.5" to 29.5", as on the Bedarra drafting stool with flip arms. More are in office stools.

Arms

Flip-up arms, on the Bedarra task chair with flip arms, fold out of the way so the chair tucks under a desk or lets you sit closer to it. The Bloom's fixed arms convert to armless with the caps included. For more adjustment, the Varsity has 4D arms and the Modern Chic and Fortuna have 3D arms.

Tilt

The Bedarra task chair with flip arms uses a spring tilt with tension control and an upright lock, the simplest mechanism. A synchro tilt, on chairs like the Santa Fe, Classic Chic and Fortuna, reclines the back further than the seat and locks in more than one position. The Bloom has no mechanism at all: its back reclines 8 degrees on its own, with no lock or tension to set.
