An office stool or drafting chair raises the seat to the height of a standing desk, counter, lab bench or drafting table, so you can sit at a surface that is too high for a standard chair.

The terms overlap. A drafting chair is a stool with a backrest, and often arms, built for sitting at height for longer stretches rather than perching for a few minutes.

Getting the height right

Measure the work surface first, then choose a stool whose seat height range lets your forearms rest level on it. The Bedarra drafting stool with flip arms adjusts from 26.5" to 29.5" at the seat, and its arms adjust from 34.5" to 37.5".

What else to check
